“Altoona Area Public Library Exhibition”
Art In Common will be the host of several exhibitions held locally in Altoona. Our first show for 2008 will be held at the Altoona Area Public Library for the month of March. We will be having an informal gathering of the artists to discuss art and the exhibition on March 11, at 7:00 PM. This get together is open to the general public. Pick up of included artwork will be Tuesday, April 1, 2008.
“Just So Big Exhibition”
Members interested in exhibiting their work can do so at our annual “Just So Big” exhibition. The Blair County Arts Foundation, 1212 Twelfth Avenue Altoona will host this non juried exhibition during the month of April. Artwork can be dropped off at BCAF on Tuesday, April 1, 2008 from 10-12. Maximum image size is 16x20, and must be properly framed and wired ready to hang. Artwork is to me picked up on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 from 10-12.
“Blair County Arts Festival”
The Blair County Arts Festival’s Fine Arts Exhibition will be held on May 17 & 18, 2008. We encourage all artists to enter the show, which is received, staged and hung by members of Art In Common. Anyone interested in volunteering and helping with this year’s show can contact the Blair County Arts foundation at 1212 Twelfth Avenue, 949-2787. Applications must be postmarked by March 31, 2008. Prospectus can be obtained at www.michlertheatre.org Notifications of accepted work will be mailed April 21, 2008. Accepted work is to be delivered to Penn State Altoona on May 10, from noon – 5:00 AND ON May 11, from 1:00 -5:00 The Artist’s Reception will be held on May 15, at 5:00 PM. Pick up of accepted work will be May 18, after the close of the show at 6:30 PM. No exceptions.
“The Art Café Blog”
One of our new members Emily Dimov-Gottshall writes “The Art Café”, a Blog site for the Altoona Mirror. She recently posted information on our last meeting. She would like to interview AIC artists and include their work and creativity in her Blog. “Opportunity to show artwork”
Procare Health & Fitness Center at 3200 Fairway Drive, Altoona has offered to display AIC members work at their offices. Displayed artwork will be hung in their PT office as well as their fitness center. To discuss this opportunity call an AIC officer.

Copies can be obtained from any AIC officers.
June 22, 2008 Art In Common Picnic will be at 2:00 PM. It will be held at Scott Gregg’s. Information will follow.
August 29 thru November 30, 2008. Artists In Our Midst Exhibition. Reception September 8, 2008.
October 14, 2008. Art In Common meeting at Church In The Middle Of The Block, 7:00 PM Nominations will be held.
Nov. 11, 2008. 7:00 PM at the Church In The Middle Of The Block. Elections.
December 11, 2008. Our annual Christmas Party will start at 6.00 PM. Any snacks will be accepted.
